Wells Community Network

Wells Community Network

A ‘community’ is most simply described as a group of people living in the same place, supporting and sharing certain attitudes and interests held in common.

The imagery used in the new branding of the Wells Community Network has been created as a metaphor for the local community itself, that is; a range of individual plants all interdependent yet growing together in an organic way; a mix of colour, energy and variety which is constantly interacting, evolving and adapting to fit its particular habitat.

Whilst the green leaves and plants initially all appear to be very similar, they are actually all separate and individual forms. The plants, like people living within a community, collectively display a wide range of shape, height, size and colour, all living side-by-side and connected in a variety of combinations. The general population of Wells is represented by the range of green plants and leaves. The appearance of the occasional alternatively coloured plant or leaf, represents the different organisations, groups and support charities which exist within this community. Collectively these groups all come together to be known as The Wells Community Network or WCN.

These different groups or organisations are all colour-coded and correspond with a specific and known organisation or charity within the community. It is a very visual and simple way of explaining the complicated structure of a local Community network, an ever evolving network of relationships that exist between the different groups and the particular services provided by each and every one.

By presenting a clear and visual understanding of a how a community works, how the different parts all interconnect and communicate, the whole system and society becomes much easier to organise and structure in a beneficial and harmonious way for all.
