La Poste Mews is a beautifully restored family friendly rental house tucked away in the centre of the Dordogne, in the South West of France. It has a mooring and is set right on the tow path of the river in the centre of the quiet village of Mauzac-et-Grand-Castang. The house, the village and history itself are all entwined together forever with the River Dordogne which flows slowly through the very heart of the village.
The Branding was designed to reflect high quality accommodation and to evoke possibility - but at a family friendly level, both functional and comfortable - a dream home away from home and all linked to the river. The logo being in blue and gold with a paddle icon illustrates the river location and that significance. The website and branding needed to be informational, a showcase for that special holiday atmosphere, laden with suggestions, opportunity, activities and family-time. From the long sunny, languid summer afternoons picnicking beside the river to all the activities and events to be found locally, such as the swimming, sailing, cycling and caving to a love of sightseeing and history and of course, all the rich and varied abundance of the local food and wine. The website and 'look' was designed to be a source of inspiration and information to anyone who may want to holiday in the area, to remind and offer a vision of what a holiday could look like in a beautiful family home.
The Imagery used in La Poste Mews Branding should convey the mood of being on holiday, the love of family and the pleasure of being in the moment. The imagery should represent activities, lifestyles, interests or sports which reflect those pastimes at their best, challenging and inspirational whilst still being accessible and desirable to families. The imagery should also be strong and vibrant, full of atmosphere, whether it be a mood of reflection or calm. The imagery should be subtle and tonally similar should be visually interesting and striking - conveying the suggestion that people are enjoying a love and good quality of life. The people should not be recognisable or dominate the image - they are a part of the scene and therefore a part of life.
