The image of a forest has come to be associated with mindfulness and the rhythmic slowing of time. The everyday stresses and bustle of our lives seem distant and irrelevant against such a calm backdrop. The forest evokes the senses, full of fresh clean smells, rich, varied colour and texture, the qualities and possibilities we aspire to in our own lives. Forests in all senses are also referred to and seen metaphorically, as being the lungs of the world.
Our breathing and how we moderate it and balance it in and around our lives can determine how well, both emotionally and physically, we can live our lives. If we neglect how we breathe it causes a strain on our system. The northern nordic forests are as healthy an ecosystem that can be found anywhere. They are thought of as being well managed, clean, relatively unpolluted, scientifically balanced, considered yet resourceful and both are modern and cutting-edged in outlook. There is a sense of being in control and being guided by a reliable force - teaching the skills which will help you cope with anything life may hold in store, either positively or negatively or both.
